Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year

Dear EUSD Community,

It is with great joy that I welcome you back for the start of the 2024-2025 school year.  We are looking forward to another successful year and to a continued partnership in the support of your children's education.  EUSD will maintain our various educational programmatic offerings for our students including: Gateway Charter Academy, our celebrated home school program; EUSD’s Dual Language Immersion Program, which follows a 90/10 model; and seven rigorous career and technical education pathways at Escalon High School (EHS) encompassing two industry sectors.  We are confident that our comprehensive educational opportunities will continue to meet the goals and needs of our students and families.

For the 2024-2025 school year, we will continue our focus on what is best for our students. Our work within Professional Learning Communities (PLC) will remain student centered.  Our staff will continue to  implement the established academic guaranteed standards and we will continue to provide access to both intervention and enrichment opportunities consistent with student needs.  Our TK through 8th grade teachers will continue with our second year of implementing our recently adopted science and social science curriculum; and TK teachers will be delivering our newly adopted TK curriculum, Frog Street.  District-wide we will continue our partnerships with the San Joaquin County Office of Education.  The partnership will allow us to expand our math professional development opportunities for our staff, which will support our teachers with the implementation of evidence based instructional practices.  We will continue our work on updating our school facilities consistent with our fiscal means. I trust that these efforts will allow us the ability to continue offering safe and supportive educational environments.

Escalon Unified School District (EUSD) has a long and proud tradition of excellence in education. I am proud and honored to continue working alongside EUSD employees who work diligently to ensure student safety while making learning a priority. Our Board of Trustees is committed to high quality instruction.  They remain committed to providing our students with broad educational programs that will ensure our students are truly college and career ready upon graduation from Escalon Unified.

We remain committed to our mission of  serving and connecting with all students. We will do everything in our power to provide current students with the essential services they need to safely learn and graduate while maintaining fiscal solvency for our future students.

Thank you for your continued support of EUSD. The entire staff of the Escalon Unified School District looks forward to partnering with you in the upcoming school year to prepare your children to be our future leaders.

Sincerely,

Ricardo “Ricky” Chavez                                                                                                                Superintendent
